I finally figured out how to fix my
lamp problem. By wedging halves of wine corks into the opening/gap in the lamp construction I was able to stabilize the harp. Then I wrapped the cork in black ribbon and pinned the end of the ribbon to the cork. You can't even see the pin. I might cover the black with gold ribbon at some point.

Wow! Great job. This gives me inspiration to finish my lamp project. I just need to find 2 bases to redo.
