Happy Thursday!

The Elephant Show and other childhood memories

While we were having coffee the other night, some of my friends and I started talking about some shows from our childhoods. Some of us are younger and some of us are a little older, so some of the shows were different. It was fun looking up shows I remember.  Leave a comment if you remember any of these shows or if I forgot your favorites!

It may be 90 degrees outside, but fall is on it's way

Paging through the latest issue of Real Simple, an article about fall weekend outfits caught my eye.  It's so fun to see clothes put together in outfits-- it gives you an idea of what works, what you like, and what to shop for.  I am really loving this article:Real Steals: Comfortable Fall Weekend Wear
 By Yolanda Wikiel .

Here are some of the photos:

# 1 shows how a great pair of boots and a belt can really make an outfit.  You can't really see it here, but in the magazine you can tell that her tights are thicker and soft.  I simply adore those kind of tights-- you know-- grown up versions of the cable knit ones we wore in the winter when we were 3 or 4?

#2 is so laid back, but adorable.  The military jacket is from Old Navy (which means it's affordable!) and I really like the skinny jeans with flats.

#3 is why I like fall: comfy cable knits (cream colored like these are my fav) and tall warm boots.

#4 I might need to get some tall black boots this year.  I love this look (minus the fake fur).

To find out where all of these clothes are from go to RealSimple.com and see the slide show.

I + PBS

ok, did you know that you can watch episodes of American Experience online?  American Experience is a history documentary series on PBS.  (two strikes against me: PBS + history + me = nerdy... haha) I've watched Jane Austin Movies on Masterpiece Theater on PBS online, but somehow I've been missing out on American Experience!

Fist one I'm going to watch?

Then maybe:

Shoe Lovin' Saturday

Summer is pretty much out the door, and fall here in Nashville can be pretty rainy.  While I wish I could wear sandals and flats year round, it's nice to have cute tennis shoes that I can throw on Saturday mornings.  They feel laid back and cozy when it's wet or cold outside.

Here are some of my favorites:

1. Converse All Stars
2. Tretorn Skymra Suede
3. Gola Chorus
4. Tretorn Skymra Canvas
5. Gola Cougar
6. Keen Coronado Cruiser

or, you can design your own at Converse.com.  How cute are these?

Red and Aqua

Look at this bright and lovely kitchen tour on Apartment Therapy!

The wall color is perfect.  I love the vintage mixed with modern feel.  The red and aqua remind me of the colors of my kitchen accessories, but I'm renting right now, so my kitchen color scheme is currently cream, black, and blahh mixed with a few bright colors.  :)

Thursdays

For some reason I always feel more tired on Thursdays.  I noticed even before Addison's came around that Thursdays were hard to get through, and I drag a bit physically and emotionally.  Maybe I should start a new routine Wednesday nights?  eat better, go to bed at 8:30 (haha, would never happen)?

What I really want to be doing right now is watching tv, curled up with a blanket and this guy:

Cath Kidston Cuteness

Take a look at some of Cath Kidston's new bags and other fun things for fall:

I really like the navy polka dot saddle bag, and the overnight bag.  And as always, her housewares are adorable!

Beautiful Etsy: African Grey Designs

Look it's a picture of Brody!

No, not really, but doesn't it look like him?  African Grey Designs on Etsy has the most adorable illustrated pet pictures.  You can even send them a picture of your pet and get a custom print.  I like this one of a pug:

I searched and searched...

All summer I was on the lookout for one thing in particular at the flea market and at garage sales.  I didn't find it.  They are pretty popular right now...  Cute little spotted fawn figurines!
