e-zines: Collected

Here's another e-zine for you. Collected is an eclectic home and lifestyle mag. I love this uncluttered living room with the chunky, primitive coffee table.

Cute Metal Patio Sets

Plastic chairs from Walmart will have to do for my patio for now (they were only $6.88 each) but if I had a million dollars, these might be on my shopping list:

I sat in the red chairs at the store and they are really comfy. They come with the cute striped chair pads.

e-zines

All of my magazine subscriptions have expired recently, but I still get my fix... from decor blogs annnnnd from e-zines! e-glossies, e-mags, online publications... whatever you might call them. Most are free, they all are easy to access, and there are some really wonderful ones out there.  I'll do my best to share a few with you. Here's the first one: The Lettered Cottage, by the blog of the same name.

There are two issues to page through:

The Lettered Cottage

The Lettered Cottage

I've been in love with the Palmers' blog for a long time now, but there is something nostalgic and special about looking at images in a magazine format. I just know you're going to love their e-zine and their blog.

Fill in the Blank Friday

It's been awhile! Here it goes:

1.   What I love most about my home is how it feels like home. The best part of my day is getting ready for bed and snuggling up with Brody and thinking about my day, and how I feel safe and at home where I live.

2.  I'm excited because, I'm going to BF's parents' tonight. Thank goodness for the weekend!

3.  My preferred method for blowing  off steam when I'm frustrated is crying, journaling, walking Brody, stomping my feet...  hehe.

4.  Currently I am craving a huge vanilla iced coffee- half-caf- from Starbucks.

5.  The thing I love most about my mom is how she gives so much to others, and that she and I can relate so well. She is truly one of my best friends.

6.  If I was going to write a book about my life, the title would be ... huh. I don't know about this one. lol,

7.  If I were to eat one thing for the rest of eternity it would be enchiladas or burritos. yum...

From the Nester: How to Edit a Room

In a closet in my apartment is a huge box with lots of decorative accessories and things that I can't seem to part with. Yet, sitting on the flat surfaces and hanging on the walls of my apartment are things I also love. Every now and then I'll look around and say, I need to pairdown, I have tooo much stuff. But I keep most of it because I think I'm going to use it at some point.

I'm a big fan of The Nester. Her blog is one of the first decorating blogs I added to my reader. Her philosophy is that you don't have to follow all the decorating rules to make your house beautiful, that you don't have to get it perfect to enjoy it, and that if you should decorate how you want to decorate. I love that!

One of her recent posts made me think I might need to keep that box of accessories. Take a look at her advice on how to edit a room.

These photos are from The Nester.

Plaits so pretty...

I used to spend a lot of time on my hair, and sometime since then I've become a 'wash and wear' girl. Braids are becoming popular again, and I've been collecting pictures.
