Most days in the fall and winter I don't put a lot of thought into what I wear to work. Usually I throw on a comfy skirt, t-shirt, sweater, scarf, tights and boots or flats. I don't have a lot of business casual pants, and skirts are so much more comfortable. Plus I like to show off my fun boots that I splurged for last year.

Ruche for fall
I love this outfit in Ruche's fall look book!
The ruffles, and the combination of cream, blush and brown is wonderful. I would probably wear different shoes, but other than that it's something I would definitely wear.

It may be 90 degrees outside, but fall is on it's way
Paging through the latest issue of Real Simple, an article about fall weekend outfits caught my eye. It's so fun to see clothes put together in outfits-- it gives you an idea of what works, what you like, and what to shop for. I am really loving this article:Real Steals: Comfortable Fall Weekend Wear
By Yolanda Wikiel .
Here are some of the photos:
# 1 shows how a great pair of boots and a belt can really make an outfit. You can't really see it here, but in the magazine you can tell that her tights are thicker and soft. I simply adore those kind of tights-- you know-- grown up versions of the cable knit ones we wore in the winter when we were 3 or 4?
#2 is so laid back, but adorable. The military jacket is from Old Navy (which means it's affordable!) and I really like the skinny jeans with flats.
#3 is why I like fall: comfy cable knits (cream colored like these are my fav) and tall warm boots.
#4 I might need to get some tall black boots this year. I love this look (minus the fake fur).
To find out where all of these clothes are from go to RealSimple.com and see the slide show.

Shoe Lovin' Saturday
Summer is pretty much out the door, and fall here in Nashville can be pretty rainy. While I wish I could wear sandals and flats year round, it's nice to have cute tennis shoes that I can throw on Saturday mornings. They feel laid back and cozy when it's wet or cold outside.
Here are some of my favorites:
1. Converse All Stars
2. Tretorn Skymra Suede
3. Gola Chorus
4. Tretorn Skymra Canvas
5. Gola Cougar
6. Keen Coronado Cruiser
or, you can design your own at Converse.com. How cute are these?

I admit it, I have an infatuation with black leather flats and pumps... However, I cannot stop looking at these buttery brown wedges. yum!

Things I would make if I had a sewing machine... version 2
I'm not very talented when it comes to sewing, but I want to be! My Mom tried to teach me, but I treat sewing a lot like I do cooking- without rules or recipes. I end up with a lot of wonky results. :) I keep seeing really wonderful things people are sewing, and I can't help but wonder if I could handle some of these projects? I mean, most of them don't involve too many steps or patterns even. (following pattern instructions is waaay too complicated for me...)

Shoe Lovin' Saturday
Oh how I love flats! Being on the taller side, heels often make me feel out of place. Some women wouldn't go a day without a stylish pair of heels, but I am completely happy in a comfy pair of leather flats.
Here are some that I'm loving right now:

1. Aldo Stakoe
2. Nine West Fabsy Flat
3. GUESS Earnest
4. Nine West Fiercely
5. Miz Mooz Dorothy
6. Calvin Klein Lexa II
7. Steve Madden Kappy Flat
8. Calvin Klein Lexa II
9. Nine West Smartie Flat

Anthropologie Cardigan Love
I have loved cardigans for as long as I can remember (maybe because I'm always cold). I probably have 5 or 6 black cardigans- all different cuts and styles. I also have brown, navy, two grays, as well as pink, green, white and cream. It's all about having the right sweater for every outfit. I may not have hundreds of shoes, but I do love my cardi's! Every girls got to have a clothing vice, right?

There are some cute cardigans at Anthropologie right now.
Scribbled Bouquet Cardigan, $98.00

Outdoor Cafe Cardigan, $98.00

Rise-And-Fall Cardigan, $128.00

Mermaid Lore Cardigan, $98.00

Too bad Anthropologie doesn't have the same prices as Target... Oh well, it's fun to dream, and get ideas! While we're talking about Anthro, look at these cute tops I found.
Minas Tank, $88.00
On the Dot Blouse, $78.00
Billowed Bow Tank, $58.00
Interrupted Ruffles Tank, $58.00
