It's Christmas Eve!

Christmas Memories
  • trying to find out where mom and dad hid the Christmas gifts
  • Buying gifts for my family at the Christmas shop at school when I was little
  • Sledding with my cousins at Cascades Park on the long toboggen
  • getting special candy in our stockings
  • Going to get the Christmas tree and arguing about who's turn it is to pick it out
  • following dad through the brush at the Christmas tree farm and getting briars on my socks
  • learning that I should not follow dad through briars
  • getting up on Christmas morning too early and being sent back to bed
  • being woken up on Christmas morning when I got old enough to appreciate sleep
  • being in Christmas musicals and plays at church
  • caroling at nursing homes
  • driving around looking at lights, listening to Amy Grant
  • eating gingerbread man ice cream sandwiches on Christmas Eve
  • chaos while opening presents at Grandma and Grandpas

Forever 21 Love!

I love these looks! The gray top is adorable, and looks slimming. I'm not a huge fan of skinny jeans unless they are tucked into boots, but skinny black pants are another story. I love them! The orchid colored sweater in the outfit on the left is perfect. One of my favorite colors to wear, and cute!

Beautiful Etsy: Sweater Deer

Whimsy for sure!  This little deer is so endearing.  I love how it isn't the typical color you see, and it's wearing a winter sweater!!

Beautiful Etsy: My love affair with hobnail

I can't help it... I just love vintage glass with hobnail.

But first let me clarify.  Not all hobnail is created equal.

I'm not interested in ugly, shoe shaped, fussy, strange colored, or top hatted...
found here, here, here and here.

I like classy, simple, pretty peices...

Winter decor

I'm all for seasonal decorations that don't cost a lot of money.  These doily snowflakes are a new take on paper snowflakes, huh?

Christmas at my house

After my family left to go home last weekend, I pulled out all of my Christmas decorations. Really this is the first year I've spent very much time decorating.  I didn't decorate for fall or Thanksgiving, but I sure do like Christmas decorations! I'm thinking about adding another garland with lights over the doorway to my bedroom. I left all of the red, magenta and gold ornaments in the box.  It's all blue, silver, green and white for this apartment.

The Glitter Merry Christmas is from Walmart.

This church is from Target on clearance after Christmas last year.

My little tree is tiny, but it fits my apartment.

Poor, Poor Doggie...

My Brody Bear has allergies and sometimes I forget and give him treats that he shouldn't have.  Then his skin gets itchy and he scratches and licks and bites until he gets hot spots that he can't leave alone.  He hasn't had a sore for months, but a couple of days ago he licked a spot on his leg until it was raw.  It got so bad that I had to take drastic measures...  Enter: the cone of shame. (anyone remember that from UP?)

I'm pretty sure Brody hates me now.

He sat in this one spot for more than 30 minutes, barely looking at me.  Then he ran around the room trying to shake it off, and when he couldn't he jumped up on the couch.  Poor thing.  Well, at least it's better than me holding him all the time and constantly telling him to stop biting his leg.  I'll spare you the picture of the afflicted limb.
